5 Stars Great Picture
I have only used this TV attached to a HD Sat. Great picture right out of the box, I have not changed settings at all.
The sound is adequate for a small room or a quiet environment but I intend to use the optical output to hook it up to my 5.1 sound system. (nice feature!)
It’s amazing how light this TV is. Under 30 Pounds? The 27″ glass TV this replaced weighs about 70.
5 Stars great lcd tv
Could not find this model locally. Ordered from Amazon and had it in less than a week. Very happy with the transaction-would buy it again.
5 Stars Nice TV for the money
This is a very nice TV. I have had this tv since about 7/30/08.
Pro’s: The TV has a very good tuner, I was able to hook it to my basic cable with Comast and was able to get about 16 HD channels and 10 or more digital channnels. I haven’t tried over the air tuner. HD channels look great, Standard Def channels look good. I have this set up in the bedroom and it works great for this purpose. 720p is all you need in this size of TV. The Favorite channels you can set up are great, on the remote you have favorites a to c and you can set 4 channels under each letter.
Con: Remote has to be pointed directly at the TV but not too bad
Other thoughts: I still haven’t hooded this to my Direct TV receiver yet, so I can’t comment on how the digital picture looks like from it! Nor have I gamed on it yet. TV does have a game setting and game timer!
If you are in the market for a 32′ LCD and want a quality brand name for a good price with plenty of options this is the one for you!
5 Stars Excellent product
The TV arrived quickly and I love it. Great picture and blu-ray and HD look even better. Couldn’t be happier!
5 Stars Great TV. Best value for the money spent.
This is my first HDTV (I am an electronics engineer so, it took very long for me to buy one that i like). But this tv blows me off. Great natural colors, no bright and deep colors as in other samsung and toshiba Tvs.
The Menu is simple but even then it gives wide range of adjustments. Don’t be attracted by the video reviews of the other TVs given all over the internet about the different options you can change on your TV because you know what, not many people use all those menu items. This has got bunch of inputs to it and it also have a headphone jack. I added my Bose system to this TV and it really gives a great Movie Experience.
The edges can be a little too glossy, but if you are a person who likes to keep the things neat, you will love the gloss.
Very useful menu item as skipping the Inputs makes this more versatile.
16 ( 4 x 4 ) Customizable favourite channels make life a little more easy. I bought this TV for the olympics and the NBC gives a HighDefinition Feed using the regular cable(no HD receiver required to watch some of the channels like NBC, TNT, A&E ) and its absolutely stunning. I also get some digital channels that are great. The audio can be skipped between mono, stereo, surround where available.
This is a tv that can be rated more than 5.
Pros: Everything.. really amazing tv.
I cannot believe you are still reading the review instead of going to the store and buying one. But for those who ” have to read ” here are the
cons: The Remote has to be really pointed to the receiver which can be a pain somtimes and also the channels skip a little slow, but that doesn’t bother me.
note: avoid plasmas they give out toomuch glare.
If you are looking for a tv at this size, it really doesn’t make a lot of difference between 720p and 1080p/i. it only matters when you go for a more bigger tvs.
And as an electronics engineer , i can safely say, that Sharp carrys one of the greater tv screens if not BEST.
Hope this review helps.
Please email me with questions. more than happy to reply.

5 Stars A Great Purchase
I made the decision to buy a Samsung LN46A850 after several weeks of research, but finding a suitable vendor was the next big challenge. Although some local stores offered price breaks, Amazon seemed to offer a significantly better price, along with free shipping. Once I placed my order, the delivery process was straightforward, easy to track, and on-time. The delivery person even brought the box up a flight of stairs. The television arrived in good condition and was easy to set up.
I am very happy with this purchase and the overall shopping experience with Amazon - thanks!
5 Stars Samsung, has produced a great product
I have purchased this television 8 weeks ago, a month ago I finally finished hooking up all the cables. 3 weeks ago I upgraded to HD with Dish network. The results are quite impressive, the clarity is really there. There is such a difference between the two most watched televisions in our home as one is not HD. Eventually I’ll be getting another quality set like the Samsung LN46A850.
One of the main reasons I chose this TV was the thickness at 1.9 inches it helps the bulk on the wall seem less than if I had a TV stick out 4 to 6 inches more than this one.
With a Blu-ray,a dish receiver, and a Bose system I’m going to have to get a remote that can operate all 3…I can see that with electronics there’s no end. I am happy with this TV, hopefully it’ll last for years to come.
The delivery was also handled well, although I was not able to view the TV when it first arrived, everything turned out great, especially since I saved nearly $700 buying it at Amazon instead of a name brand store.
I recently had a group over to watch a football game together and everyone was impressed with the SamsungLN46A850, at it’s size, the HD, the TV thickness. My team lost but the TV was a winner.
5 Stars LN46A850 review, long
First off let me provide some basic info so you have an understanding of the use, location, and expectations for this TV. Let me state that this is the first HDTV we have ever owned. This is a replacement for a functioning 25″ Zenith color console with a rotary dial (only has a flat UHF and VHF input) that we purchased new 25 plus years ago. We have basic cable (Time Warner) that was hooked up to the old TV through a VHS and DVD (separate) player. We started researching HDTV’s last year. After information overload from all of the various manufactures as to why they were better we settled on the Samsung brand just to start narrowing it down. After that we took up the Plasma vs. LCD. We settled on the LCD and then quickly narrowed it down to the 46″ model based upon our living room layout. We have three interior and one exterior wall, with the exterior wall facing east and is all glass. We have a fireplace at the end of the room and that is where the TV has always set. After all of that was done we were ready to pull the trigger and purchase the LN46A650 but waited for a while ($$). By the time we were ready to purchase, Samsung had just released the 850, 860, and 950. Jump back into research to see what the differences were. Well thin is what we needed to help with the room arrangement so we quickly changed to the 850 (ToC red) / 860 (ToC blue) model. We purchased the 850 on Cyber Monday. It arrived the following Monday.
1. CEVA Logistics, Just after placing my order I received a confirmation from Amazon with the tracking #. Goggled CEVA, placed the tracking # in the main web page to locate the TV and there it was, at the warehouse outside of Harrisburg Pa. I checked it several times that week and followed it through their system. I received a phone call from the local agent on Friday who setup a delivery time on Monday (7 days after the order) for a delivery between 9 and 1. They arrived at about 10:00 with a small urban type delivery truck. The two deliverymen were college aged and friendly. They met me at the door and we inspected the package together. They advised me before stepping into the house that they were only to unpack and check that it powered on. They did just that and there were no issues. I tried to tip them but they politely refused and went on their way. I am mentioning this here as some reviews were all over the place on them.
2. The TV, It was easy to hook up. Screwed in the cable to the back and turned it on. It went through a couple of quick menus and then it was searching for channels. It even tells you on the screen where it is in the process. We only get about 60 basic cable channels so I was quite surprised when it said that it was up to about 150 and still going. Once it reached the end it stated “removing scrambled channels” which brought the number back down. It found all of the HD channels that Time Warner provides free and I never new they were there.
3. Navigating the built in menu system is fairly easy. Once you get the hang of the remote you can set up the entire TV in about 30 minutes (in my case).
4. I will say that the remotes are pretty particular that they are pointed at the lower left side of the screen. One remote has everything on it. The second remote in the box that is pretty basic. It will turn the TV off and on; change the channels and the volume.
5. ToC, this is a non issue in this model. You can barely see it at all and there is no glare that we can detect at all through the sides that affect the picture.
6. The black bezel is extremely glossy and looks spectacular. When our room has all of the lights on you can see the reflections off of it but it has not interfered with our viewing. We mostly have one light on in the room at the far end in the evening and it is not noticeable. Daytime viewing, in the morning the room is brightly lit as it gets the rising sun. The screen is not affected from it.
7. Factory defaults, from the start we left them alone till we had a better feel for the TV. We have been tweaking here and there and believe that everyone can customize to their tastes. The picture is just exceptionally clear and the TV does a great job of adjusting the straight 4:3 broadcast into what ever format you want. I think that there are 5 different settings here (4:3, 16:9, zoom 1, zoom 2, wide fit) and you can set to your tastes.
8. DVD Player, Hooked it up to the TV with component cables as the connection. The player is a 2001 model and is pretty basic. We placed a Star Wars DVD in because of the THX calibration (Google it) and was utterly amazed that it looked that good. We did not do a calibration and left all of the settings alone. The TV has a built in surround sound emulator that can be turned on and off if you do not have external speakers. The sound was absolutely great compared to what we had before. I am sure that it does not match a true 5:1 or 7:1 but in no way is it weak as other reviewers have claimed.
9. Interface to home server through DLNA. I have not had a chance to install the software on the home PC yet.
10. Infolink, The INFOLINK found everything the first time. News, Sports, Weather, and Stocks etc can be programmed fairly easy.
Final comments, the channel search found double channels on all of the major broadcast affiliates (NBC, ABC, FOX, ETC). It is easy to go through the menu system and tell which is analog and which is digital. Delete the analog as you can see a major difference in the quality. One can hit an “info” button on the remote and it will give you all of the technical stuff on the channels. I really like the feature that tells you which format the broadcasts are in, 4:3 or 16:9, and the resolution 420i, 720P, 1080i. The HD channels and shows themselves are clearly awesome as you see features on the shows that you have never seen before, blemishes on the actor’s faces, individual strands of hair, subtle makeup differences in shades ETC. The swivel stand is nice and the TV itself is not that heavy. It comes with a micro fiber cleaning cloth. Only time will tell if this model will give us the longevity that we are accustomed to. We are totally pleased with our purchase.
Thanks
GM
5 Stars Totally Impressed
I bought this TV a few months ago now and am totally impressed with it. Thanks first off to Amazon for the cheap deal, NO SHIPPING and NO TAX!!
I am going to try to keep this short….
I shopped around, couldn’t find a cheaper store or website for TV’s.
I read reviews, checked out different sites, researched TV’s and found this one. I am in the military, so I mainly wanted a great picture that didn’t weigh a lot and was slim so I can move it myself and it won’t take up much space just in case I have to put in storage when I deploy.
…seriously consider this TV. It is more expensive than the 650 or 750 series, but wow!! Read up, and do your homework, but if you decide on this one, I know you won’t be disappointed!! 1.9 inches thick BABY!! LMAO!!!
5 Stars BEST SAMSUNG EVER
First off i was worried about all the negative reviews about the IR interference and CEVA issues but pulled the trigger anyway because this tv was 600 dollars cheaper than anywhere else. The tv came and it was perfect no issue whatsoever shipping aswell. Best purchase ever

Premium Gold Series 6ft 2m Hdmi 1 3 Certified Cable for Ps3 Blu ray

PTC’s latest revision for HDMI doubles the bandwidth of the original and has opened the door for a host of potential new advancements in Home Theater Audio/Video performance. New features such a Deep Color, higher color gamut, and high resolution, multi-channel audio formats like Dolby True HD and DTS-HD Master Audio will make higher bandwidth demands than ever before. Equipment manufacturers are bringing out new devices to take advantage of these new features.

3 Stars Only good for certain tvs
I was tempted by the price and since I was purchasing a PS3, i wanted to get the most out of my system. I figured, what the heck, the price makes it worth a shot. How wrong I was. Just a few months ago I spent a pretty penny on a 50″ 1080p plasma. I wanted my new PS3 to look the best it could with HDMI. However, the problem I ran into was when I tried to display 1080p signal. The cable displayed 480p, 720p, and 1080i just fine. Im sure I cant even tell the difference between the 1080p/i, but I wanted the best. There was noise and signal loss when using 1080p, so be warned. If your TV doesnt display 1080p, no worries, but if it does, pay a little more for what its worth. It was delivered promptly and neatly packaged, if that counts for anything.
5 Stars Looks Good!
I have no other HDMI cables to compare this to, but you know what, I’m very happy that I went this route. I had this since September and I had no problems. I’m using this with my HD cable and my Sharp 32″ TV. HD channels looks great, crisp. It’s best to buy this and not the $60+ cables.
5 Stars Awesome products!
About time somebody helps us working folk out! Great cable, works great and the picture from my DVD player to my tv is incredible! Save your money from bully electronic stores and start shoppin on here. The company BargainCell ships very fast and well packaged items!
5 Stars Perfect price
Good price and fine Cables. Have not seen any bandwidth or quality issues with them.
5 Stars I am not going to spend a lot for an HDMI cable
[Anyone remembers the old "I am not going to spend a lot for this muffler" commercial?]
[NOTE: I bought TWO Premium Gold Series cables and I actually took home one Monster cable at one time so maybe I know what I am talking about :)]
Just in case someone may feel guilty for not paying a lot more for, basically the same thing, let’s look at our top of the line offer, Monster HDMI 1000HD Ultra-High Speed HDMI Cable (2 meters) and do a quick comparison.
The Gold Series item supports the HDMI 1.3 standard. Any HDMI 1.3 cable can carry up to 10.2 Gbit/s. Hmmm… I suppose the Monster is much better, right? Well… it “guarantees a certified cable bandwidth of 10.2″ Okay, but the Monster also supports “x.v.Color, and Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD”. It turns out that, all of the above, and more, are part of the HDMI 1.3 specs and they are fully supported by every cable that complies to the standard and can be had for about 95% less in the Premium Gold. The expensive brand presentation simply enumerates the HDMI 1.3 specs as if it being HDMI 1.3 compliant was a really big deal. It is not a big deal. Even a cable that costs 95% less is HDMI 1.3 compliant.
My suggestion: if you think that the proponents of the expensive brand have a point when they claim that their product is a lot more durable, buy TWO Premium Gold wires and still pay almost 90% less than you would pay for one of the expensive ones.
My personal experience: I’ve never paid ‘a lot’ for an HDMI cable because it makes no sense to pay more. I took home one of the ‘expensive’ ones once because the salesman promised to take it back if I wasn’t amazed by the difference. It made zero difference and I returned it.

The following are the HDMI 1.3 specs and any certified HDMI 1.3 cable is going to support them.
Maximum signal bandwidth (MHz) 340

Maximum audio bandwidth (Mbit/s) 36.86

Panasonic Viera TH 42PZ800U 42 Inch 1080p Plasma HDTV

The PZ800 series meets the THX Certified Display specifications, signifying the highest standards of performance and quality. The PZ800 Plasma televisions feature an improved native contrast ratio of 30,000:1; Game Mode; VIERA Link; a PC Input, four HDMI connections and an all new one sheet of glass design concept.

5 Stars Quality blows me away
I decided to spend a little more on this model. In addition to the improved picture quality, card reader and extra HDMI input I chose this because it was crafted from a single sheet of glass and had a swivel stand (the tv sits in a corner and allow us to swivel to face the kitchen if we need).
I did a lot of research on TVs and knew I wanted a Panasonic plasma from the outset. The picture quality is excellent (colors and blacks are extremely well defined), menu’s easy to navigate and the THX certification was noticeable when you switched - particularly on DVDs. All in all a great price for this TV and a solid, good looking performer.
5 Stars Nice TV - Good Picture
This TV is sharp. So far I only have HD through Comcast. Make sure you use an HDMI calbe; it does not have to be an expensive one - try Belkin.
The THX makes me feel like watching TV through polarized sunglasess; in otherwords, too dark - I have yet to watch a Blu Ray movie on the THX mode. So far, I have been watching this TV on the Custom Mode.
The TV is stylish and stands out from the pack. I have not had a burning image and not sure if that’s a problem anymore.
If you do not have HD service from your Cable or Dish and do not plan on getting a Blu Ray don’t bother getting this TV - stick to your old tube.
The size, 42-Inch is big enough for my 12 feet away viewing experience. Another plus is that this tv has an excellent sound and more than likely you will not need a surround system; other HD TVs have very poor sound systems.
5 Stars A great buy!
This is the second Panasonic plasma HDTV that I have bought. I bought my first one back in 2006. That one is great and the picture and quality are fantasitc. But my new Panasonic Viera TH42PZ800U 42″ plasma 1080p blows my old one out of the water. Granted my new plasma is 2 years newer than my first, but the picture and colors are great. I also bought a Blue-Ray player (Panasonic of course) and the DVD’s play great on the plasma. For the money, you can not go wrong with this Panasonic model.
So in short, if you are in the market for a new plasma HDTV, you should definitely consider buying this plasma (or another Panasonic plasma).
5 Stars Panasonic Plasma TV Great; White Glove Delivery Not so Great
We purchased the Panasonic HD Plasma TV from Amazon and requested extra-fee white glove delivery. This is our first hd tv and so we have no basis for comparison with prior sets. The TV is wonderful with sharp, clear picture and user-friendly controls. The white glove delivery was a different matter. Amazon uses an outside logistics service which in turn utilizes a series of independent contractors and, at least in the Bay Area, the logistics service uses one independent contractor per delivery truck. The initial delivery was prompt and the crew courteous, but the crew showed us that the packing (and the tv)were damaged. They nevertheless moved it into the house to see if it fit our existing tv stand. It did and they took the damaged tv with them and promised a prompt replacement. That was the last we heard. After we made many phone calls, and with the help of an Amazon supervisor, we learned that Amazon had provided an incorrect tracking number. A call to the logistics company revealed that the replacement tv was just sitting on their loading dock. The next day a new contractor delivered the tv. The crew was rude and unhelpful, and they even had to borrow a screwdriver to make the installation. When I went down to the driveway to ask them a question, they jumped into the their truck and sped off. So much for white glove delivery.
5 Stars Movie experience at home
As an older widow I prefer to watch movies etc. in my own home. My new 42 inch Pnasonic HD TV is perfect for that and also my favorite programs on TV. The delivery service in my area was also very well managed.
