Antennas Direct DB4 Multi Directional HDTV Antenna

Antennas Direct DB4 Multi Directional HDTV Antenna

The DB4 has become our most popular model because it is simply the best Mid Range HDTV antenna on the market. With an approximate 13.7 dB gain, it is one of the strongest multi-directional antennas available and performs consistently across the entire UHF spectrum. It even works well in areas where HD transmitters are in multiple directions. The bow tie design of the DB4 uses triangular elements instead of rods to greatly increase the bandwidth allowing it to cover the entire UHF band. Additionally, the mesh reflector of the bowtie is more efficient than a rod reflector, is lower in weight, and provides less wind resistance for greater performance and durability. If you are looking for an antenna that is practically guaranteed to perform, the DB4 is one of your safest choices. It will pull in all UHF frequencies and most higher level VHF frequencies with a range of about 55 miles.

User Ratings and Reviews

5 Stars Simple and effective OTA solution
I WAS using a silver sensor amplified unit and dissatisfied with frequent drop-outs and “1/2 power” signal strength on my OTA tuner. I simply removed the silver sensor and plugged-in the DB4 and I immediately had 100% signal strength on all but one local channel, and that one is 75% and works fine too.

My DB4 is hanging on the wall in my garage facing the general direction of our local towers with 20′ of RG6 coax running to the tuner. I’m ~10 miles from the towers in Dayton, OH. Now, I want to move the unit to the attic and see if I can pull-in Cincinnati or Columbus (~50 miles). Bottom line: This unit works as advertised!

5 Stars Good HDTV Antenna
Brings in a good sharp picture. I have mine mounted in the attic and it works fine. Need to aim it carefully.

5 Stars Attic installation in Lincoln, NE - Works Very Well
There is a warning in the installation instructions saying that signals would be cut by 40% to 50% by being installed in an attic instead of outdoors. However, this was not a problem for us. We now receive more channels than we hoped for–16, all very strongly.

4 Stars Works indoors for me, near RTP, NC
Works great indoors, as research & other recommendations noted.

Skipped buying the stand, since it can sit on the floor or a speaker.

In normal weather conditions, I can leave it pointed East & pickup all local broadcasts (under about 50 mi) without needing to adjust the antenna. This includes stations coming from the West like PBS (UNC-TV). Cloudy/windy/rainy sometimes requires adjustments, but that’s expected & acceptable for free HD/DTV.

The setup presently is a Phillips HD-ready TV (CRT style) with a Samsung HDTV tuner. Previously had been using the smallest antenna style from an ATI HDTV Wonder kit, which had trouble maintaining a signal since it was designed for closer towers.

Our home location is near RTP, NC by the mall [.........]

Shipping was fast also; in time for a big weekend football game!

4 Stars better than rabbit ears…
received antenna with some elses paperwork including stating being returned due to ordering the wrong model. That freaked me out a little, but antenna was not damaged. I has hoping to have antenna in the attic but after some testing decided it had to be mounted outside to work the best. Antenna does work better than rabbit ears but I don’t get the 20 stations like other users, but a did double my stations, so for that I am happy.

Antennas Direct DB8 Multi Directional HDTV Antenna

Intended for people at great distances from the transmitters, the DB8 is a powerful multi-directional HD antenna. In fact, its 15.8dB gain make it one of the most powerful multi-directional antennas available. The bow tie design of the DB8 uses triangular elements instead of rods to greatly increase the bandwidth allowing it to cover the entire UHF band. Additionally, the mesh reflector of the bow tie is more efficient than a rod reflector, is lower in weight, and provides less wind resistance for greater performance and durability. This DB8 is the ideal antenna for use in locations that can pull long range signals from various directions and offers an attractive alternative to using a directional antenna mounted on a rotator.

User Ratings and Reviews

5 Stars Antenna
I am pleased with the antenna and it works well considering the great distance to the towers which is nearly 70 miles away. Several weaker stations do not pull in the signal as well. Overall I am pleased.

5 Stars It Just Works
Pros:

Does a great job receiving signals (successfully gets HD signals from Chicago 44 miles away even though it is the attic).

Cons:

Is more sensitive to direction that one would think for a “multi-directional” antenna. I found that moving the antenna less than 5 degrees oftentimes caused a channel to fade in or out.

4 Stars digital TV antenna review
I received the antenna really quickly. My only complaint….the instructions were pretty vague….didn’t even tell which side of the antenna was the “front”. Otherwise—once I “played” with it, I decided it works pretty well. Where I used to get 3 analog channels, now I get 14 digital ones.

Antennas Direct DB8 Multi Directional HDTV Antenna

An excellent product choice for medium to long range (30-60+ miles) reception of quality HDtv signals. Relatively easy to assemble, good sensitivity to signal strength optomization and a good ‘Antennas Direct’ return policy and practice (pay return shipping only). Just the trick for the San Francisco Bay Area reception from Sunnyvale.

5 Stars Good product! Fast Shipping!
Regular antennas generated very poor signal to my TV. Once I switch to use Antennas Direct DB8, it improves the signal to my TV. Now, I could see more channels than before. This is a very good product! Plus, fast shipping! A+++
