5 Stars Best TV for the Price
I picked this set up online for $800. I bought a Panamax power conditioner to prevent some of the things I heard about buzzing. Picked up the conditioner for 20 bucks online and had it read for the tv. Plugged the tv in and it worked perfectly!

HD looks great and I hear absolutely nothing at all. Connected this to my XBOX360, digital camera, and media pc. Have had a flawless performance with all 3 thus far!

Very happy with this set and would definitely recommend it to others.

5 Stars great product
great plamsa the price is right and the game mode is sweet! i would recomend this to everyone

4 Stars Very Nice, HD perfect, Standard not great
I got a great deal on this TV, and do think it was worth it. I love the size, and the HD picture is fantastic. I did not have any trouble with buzzing, and I just have the TV plugged into a regular power strip. The standard channels are quite a bit grainy. But I have no real comparison for this. I assume most LCD and Plasma sets have this issue? Anyway, the set is spectacular looking, and versatile. Great features, and great HD picture. If that is what you are looking for, it is worth it.

5 Stars This is a GREAT TV/monitor. Not buzzing at all.
I’ve had this TV for one week. The setup was a breeze. It was too heavy for me to hang alone, but my wife and I lifted it onto the mount with little trouble. The picture in HD is super. Standard def looks grainy, but it is not too distracting. The antiglare treatment works well. The sound is good, but too small for a TV this grand. I hooked it up to my receiver w/ bookshelf speakers and a subwoofer. Ahhh, much better now. I was nervous about the buzzing complaint, so I purchased a Monster Power Clean power strip (used for under $50) on Amazon. This little accessory is nice, and I can hear the difference in my soundsystem, which I also connected to it. I found a slight scratch in the glossy cabinet after two days in my living room. I don’t think that it happened during setup. My guess is that it happened before it was placed into the box. Overall, I’m extremely satisfied considering that I paid $899 for this TV. It has lots of cool extras (cable card slot, USB port, media card slots, etc.) that make it a more versatile choice than any other in it’s class.

5 Stars Awsome HDTV!!!
Well I brought this plasma about a month ago, I’d definately give it five star rating!!! I didn’t get it for a steal of a deall @ the $800.00 bucks like someone else did anyway, At first didn’t make any buzzing noise with the regular cable box so opted to get the hd cable box & thats the first thing I notice buzzing just like other complained about, & instead of calling the store I called Samsung directly ran a test & still got buzzing,So samsung wanted to set me up with in house service, I then called the store that I puchased it & spoke to the man that sold it to me & he said if it wasn’t making the buzzing with the regular box itwasn’t the tv, he explained to the wires that the cable co. gives you were poor quality & couldv’e been creating the buzzing so he suggested in buying the HDMI cable a good one monster cable preferably, so I went & bought one 4ft runs about $100.00 & 8ft is about $119.00, Iwent with the 8 footer & it ran me $128.00& change, Any hooked up & “BINGO” that what it was, once I turned it on the pictures clarity & sound was “EXCEPTIONAL” If I can give anyone advice go the better cables especialy when dealing such a nice plasma, “BEING CHEAP CAN ONLY GIVE YOU CHEAP RESULTS”

5 Stars Excellent Plasma
I originally purchased a 56″ Samsung 1080p DLP (HL-S5687W) from Amazon. Unfortunately, I was one of the few who could see the rainbow effect of the single chip DLP color wheel. The rainbows were very distracting and I couldn’t live with the set.

Amazon couldn’t do anything for me such as exchanging the set for a different model. Fortunately, Samsung was willing to work with me and gave me the option to exchange/upgrade for a different set. I chose to go with the HP-S6373 and couldn’t be happier.

I am really into picture quality, and this set has the best that I’ve seen anywhere. I had a 65″ CRT RPTV for about three and a half years, and although it was ISF calibrated, the Samsung plasma looks much nicer. When I decided to get a new HDTV about five months ago, I went through two Sony 1080p SXRDs (KDS-60A2000), both ended up having green blob problems. Then I tried the Samsung DLP, which had the rainbow effect that I mentioned earlier. I spent so much time researching HDTVs, and the Sony and Samsung models that I had tried were arguable two of the best sets available at the time (I spent way too much time at the AVS Forum).

Anyhow, I am very happy with the Samsung HP-S6373. It minimizes two of the big concerns that people have with plasmas - glare and burn in - by using FilterBright Plus and automatic pixel shift technology. You can still see some reflection in a brightly lit room, but there is no silk screen effect (SSE), which was very noticeable on the SXRD and DLP. I’d rather have a little glare instead of SSE.

Both the Sony SXRD and Samsung DLP are 1080p sets. I understand why the higher resolution is important, especially for 1080i/1080p material but I can honestly tell you that my 1366 x 768 plasma looks much nicer than either 1080p set. Granted this may be due to my 12 foot viewing distance, but ultimately the best picture is up to the viewer and a 1080p sticker doesn’t necessarily mean that the picture quality of one set is better than another.

I constantly found myself tweaking the Sony SXRD and Samsung DLP sets to get the best picture. I used service and user menu tweaks and recommended settings from Cnet and the AVS Forum, but was never completely satisfied. The HP-S6373 plasma didn’t look so hot out of the box either, but after setting it to movie mode (with no other adjustments), it looks amazing.

It’s probably not completely fair to compare RPTVs to a plasma, but I am just providing my opinion based on the sets that I’ve had. Another reviewer mentions that the build quality leaves much to be desired. I haven’t owned any other plasmas, but compared to the RPTVs that I’ve owned, this set is pretty solid. The TV is level in the stand, so perhaps the reviewer had a bad stand.

The only annoyance I have with the set is that I can hear a slight buzzing noise when the volume is muted and a bright image is displayed. I can’t hear it from where I sit and haven’t noticed it during normal viewing. I just read complaints about buzzing on some of the Samsung 50″ sets, so I was listening for it. I have to get within a couple feet of the set to hear it, and like I mentioned, it’s only audible on bright images. Compared to the much more significant green blob and rainbow problems that I had on previous sets - this is a non issue.

Sorry to write so much, I just figured that I would share my experience incase anybody else has had as much trouble as I’ve had finding an HDTV that they are happy with. Most people (including my wife) would have been completely happy with the Sony SXRD or Samsung DLP.

1 Star A completely inferior large-screen plasma
I ordered this item from Amazon and was really excited for its arrival. Amazon’s service was top-notch (as usual) and I had the TV in just a few days.

And that was the end of anything positive.

I really can’t tell you how disappointed I was in this plasma.

Firstly, the picture quality is well below that of the competition. It does an extremely poor job with standard definition broadcasts and even HD broadcast don’t look great. No matter how I adjusted the set, I couldn’t get a realistic color setting. It seems the only choices are “too red”, “too blue”, and “too green”. Ughh…

Secondly, the build quality leaves much to be desired. The TV comes delivered with a rotating stand that seemed like a nice feature as my room won’t allow wall-mounting. But owing to the fact that the stand is mostly plastic, it does not provide adequate support for the TV and the end result is that the TV does not stay level in the stand. In fact, the left side of my screen was a full 3/4 of an inch lower than the right side. It was very noticeable.

Finally, if you are someone who enjoys watching standard definition programs in a wide-screen format, you’re in for a rude awakening. As you probably know, almost all manufacturers include a picture setting that expands the picture on the right and left screen edges while leaving the center of the screen untouched. Samsung calls this setting “panoramic” (others call it justified, etc.). Well guess what? Even though this is the flagship product in the Samsung plasma line, Samsung made the decision to leave this screen setting off of this TV. If you’re watching a standard definition program your only options are putting up with the left and right side black bars, a zoom setting that cuts off the top and bottom of the picture, or a full-screen option that leaves you with the dreaded “fat head” syndrome.

When I first saw this 63″ plasma at this relatively low price, I thought it seemed to good to be true. Turns out it was. Spend a couple grand more and get yourself the Panasonic 65″ 1080P model. That’s what I did and I couldn’t be happier.

5 Stars Amazing Plasma TV
I ordered this TV through Amazon/ButterflyPhoto. To be honest I was a bit concerned that I would have issues with the delivery. Come to find out, my fears were completely unfounded. I had an excellent experience. I ordered it on a Monday and it was in my living room on Wednesday.

The TV itself is amazing–despite what one other reviewer had to say about it. It comes on the swivel stand, which is rather sturdy and bears the weight of the TV rather well.

The picture is amazing–even on non-high def channels. I had a Sony HDTV prior to this and with this TV it is as if I had never truly seen High Def programming. The non-HD signal on regular digital channels are as good as the HD picture on the Sony and the HD signal on the Samsung is incomparable!

I thought that I would not like the fact that the TV does not have a wide-zoom option for picture size, but it is not an issue. Leaving the TV in 16:9 aspect ratio is fine–it is hardly noticeable.

5 Stars 1st Time Plasma User - Very Satisfied Consumer
First of all, I would just like to commend the Eagle service. I am on the 3rd floor in my apartment building, and getting a TV of this size up to my Apt would be difficult enough, and this service made those issues irrelevant.

As for the TV:

I was so dead set on the LCD 40-42″, and 1080P, but after I did some research, I realized that 1080P isn’t going to be in wide use for quite some time. So I noticed this TV had a contrast ratio of 15,000 to 1. Most LCD TV’s had 10,000 to 1 or so, so I viewed this as a huge plus

I did more research of this TV on AVS forum, to make sure that there were no issues, manufacturing defects etc, and to my knowledge, I was unable to find such issues.

I set up the TV on the wall using a Peerless mount, and when I finally turned the TV on and connected it to an HD source.. all I can say was WOW!! I am totally hooked. We ended up putting this in our bedroom, meanwhile we have a 30″ Samsung Slimfit TV in the Living Room, so you must imagine there is now a lot of TV watching in Bed.

In summary:

For those who are hesistant to go with a Plasma - trust me on this - Do not hesitate, and go and get this TV you will not be disappointed!!

5 Stars If you’re considering this model….BUY IT!
Having researched/compared hdtvs for several months, I could not be more happier with the decision made to purchase this model. Especially catching it on Amazon for under $1000! Delivery was quick and professional. Upscaling dvd player: picture is flawless, Directv HD: picture is amazingly clear, Directv SD: picture is actually very good (but HD will not take long to spoil you). I have found the factory picture settings to be just fine. If you don’t like the factory settings, there are (what seems to be) endless possiblities of picture adjustments at your disposal. Sound is great (has an EQ). TV looks great on the wall. If you’re reading this while researching…stop now and buy this model. You will not be disappointed.

5 Stars Great TV
I have owned this tv for over half a year and I love the set. The picture is second to none and the quality of the product is great. The only thing that I have an issue with is the remote that comes with the tv. It does not allow me to control my TIVO dvr and there are certain functions that I am unable to perform when controlling my digital cable box. However, I would buy this tv over any other that I have experienced, it continually impresses me.

5 Stars No regrets!
This TV is awesome! I’ve never had any problems with it and the picture it delivers is flawless! I have played DVD’s on it, watched HDTV with an antenna, and play computer games with it and it work great for each scenario. I have recommended this TV to everyone I know. I did a lot of research before I purchased this TV because I did not know if I wanted to get this one or a Sony. But I have no regrets now that I have bought this one!

5 Stars Beautiful TV at a great price
I’ve had this TV for about a month now and am very happy with it. It has a beautiful picture. We have used the standard cable input as well as a progressive DVD player (not an up-converting model) with component input. Both have looked really nice. When browsing for TVs at Best Buy I noticed that many looked really awful with just a standard TV (non-HD) input. This TV does not have that problem.

What really drove me to this TV was the price. Plasma has a much nicer picture than LCD, and this price was awesome compared to others in its size range (including LCDs). We sit about 8-10 ft from the TV, and see no need for 1080i resolution for a 42″ TV. The 720p is plenty good enough. 480p (DVD, standard digital TV) looks good as well.

The only potential downsides to this TV — it does have a significant amount of glare. I control that with window blinds and room lighting. I don’t watch a lot of daytime TV, so it doesn’t bother me much. Also, the controls feel rather slow (especially changing channels). I only compare the speed to our old CRT TV, though, so I don’t know how that compares with other plasma or LCD TV’s.
