I just bought this TV. It is amazing. Easy to set up…clear picture…great sound…amazing response time…and it picks up approximately 15 over the air free HD channels. Furthermore, the delivery was excellent (came about a week early). I will definitely use Amazon.com to buy future HDTV’s. Thank you Amazon!

4 Stars nice performing and relatively inexpensive enty level HDTV
Just bought this set a couple of days ago. I have had my eye on the new models that run at 120hz but just couldn’t justify paying over $1600 on th 46 inch set I wanted. I bought this set as a test to see if the reviews on Samsung sets are accurate.

Set up is a snap with this set. I only had to consult the manual to figure out how to turn off the welcoming chimes. Everything else is easily found on the on screen menue.

DTV stations on my over the air antenna look great. Weak analog stations need some picture manipulation to make them visible but the tuner over all performs well. HDTV content over the satellite is excellent. I was suprised at how well the set performs on fast motion action. It’s rated a 6ms which is just 2ms more than the much pricier 120hz models. Granted you don’t get as high of a contrast ration, but for the price I can’t complain the black level is good. Blue ray disks and playstation 3 games look amazing.

I run the sound through my Denon home theater and it performs well. The set speakers do an adequate job although sound separation is limited even with the SRS sound engaged so I just use my Linaeum center channel.

I plan on using this set as a pc monitor as well, I just haven’t hooked it up yet.

I still plan on buying the LNA630 wich is full 1080p and runs at 120hz, but until the price drops this set will suffice.

Bottom line this is a good set for the price and it is small enough that you don’t need to run 1080p. The refresh rate is only 60hz but motion blur is minimal. The only down side is the remote is not back lit and seems a little cheap. I will review this set again in six months to keep you posted on how it is holding up. If it continues to perform well I should be buying another larger set at that time.

1 Star arrived broken
I wanted to love this TV. It looked great in the store. The price was right. But it came out of the box broken. It turns on for about half a second, then goes black. Samsung tech support tried transferring me to “level two service” twice, each time I was disconnected before the third tech person said that level two service was closed. I had to call the next day to schedule an appointment for them to come to my place to repair it, and now I’m going to have to use a vacation day waiting from them to come out, because they don’t do repairs evenings or weekends. So far, a pretty miserable experience.

UPDATE: Samsung repair came to the house, but they didn’t bring the right part. Apparently, this TV’s innards are plastic, not metal like the last model, and the official Samsung repair people didn’t even have this plastic part yet. A day taken off of work for nothing.

UPDATE2: Got a replacement TV and it’s great. Great picture for the price. BTW, the reviewer who said you can’t use a VCR with this set because “it doesn’t have the outdated composite video input that VCRs require” is incorrect. One of the component video inputs also works as a composite input. I’ve attached my old VHS player, and it works just fine.

This is a magnificant TV. The picture is actually perfect. I have this TV hooked to an ordenery TV antenna at present , and wow!

I am getting digital programs from public TV that demonstrate just how much is acheived with HDTV.

I have looked at other brands and determined that this brand has the best out of the box picture by far.

2 Stars Do not buy if you have Comcast without a cable box!
This is a beautiful TV with a great picture, but, unfortunately, the QAM tuner is defective on most of these units. The sound will get robotic and distorted on HD channels if you do not have a cable box. This happens not only on this model of Samsung LCD TVs, but on numerous others. Mostly this is a problem with Comcast, but I have heard it also happens with other cable companies without a box. Search the Internet for “distorted sound” and “robotic audio” for more information on the problem. Samsung is completely unresponsive about this problem and there are many furious owners. It’s an extremely annoying problem that currently has no permanent fix. We’ve had the circuit board replaced once, but the sound problem came back within a matter of days. We tried to get the circuit board replaced again, but the circuit board they gave us was defective. What great products Samsung makes, huh? Their customer service is also the worst we have ever experienced. We will never be buying Samsung products ever again.

My best advice is to avoid this TV at all costs (or any Samsung LCD TV, for that matter) if you don’t have a cable box. If you do have a cable box, there is no problem at all with sound. However, not everyone wants or needs a cable box (we just have basic cable and do not need the extra expense each month), so this tuner problem is ridiculous and completely uncalled for. There is no excuse for shoddy products. The TV should work fine in any environment, not just in homes with cable boxes. I have no clue how this got through inspection. Samsung, WAKE UP, or soon you will have a class action lawsuit on your hands.

This antenna was placed on a 32 inch TV and performed perfect. I use a conveter box and have had a lot of trouble with sound quality. I also had problems with lost signals. This antenna solved all my problems. I have purchased various antenna’s in discount stores (up to $60) none worked adequalty. I picked up an additional six stations from the prior setup. I receive 18 channels over the air, one station is a repeat, PBS 2, and one is a station that brocast a signal that it is no longer available! With the advent of digital TV I do not understand the need for cable. I do not watch a lot of TV or buy expensive items.

This is a very good indoor antenna. I live close to 40 to 50 miles away from the broadcasting area of Houston Texas and I recieved all of the major channels in my area. Most of the time I would get such a clear picture that I would almost forget I was using an indoor antenna. I would say, for the money, you couldn’t go wrong with this item. I have recommended this antenna to several of my friends.

4 Stars Nice Indoor Antenna!
I now have 2 Terk HDTVa antennas- One in bedroom and one on the main TV in living room. Great reception on local DTV stations. The box labels the antenna to work up to 45 miles from signal source, but local Gainesville stations are not very strong, and most of them are directional too. This is an excellent antenna and I recommend for the Gainesville area within 30 miles of the transmitters.

5 Stars One year and loving it
I brought this last year from Amazon during the thanksgiving blowout. I was a little hesitant and was leaning more towards Sony or Samsung. But after reading the reviews and comparing the models at BestBuy went ahead and bought it. I had absolutely no problem with it in the one year I had it except for one pixel in the screen that went bad. Recommended.

5 Stars I’ve owned it for over a year with no problem
I have had this 32HL67U for about fourteen months and have had no problems at all. The picture is sharp and colorful. 1080i content looks great over cable and the set does a good job upconverting a raw 480i DVD signal. Pretty good sound for a 32″ LCD is icing on the cake. This was a good deal when I bought it a Amazon and I am fully satisfied. I have friends who have also been pleased with their REGZA’s. I am sorry that many people here seem to have issues but I would buy Toshiba again when I purchase a larger HDTV.

This TV is awesome for the price. For HDTVs that are smaller like this, you dont really need 1080p. This 720p looks as good as the picture on my 1080i 50″ Sony LCD. My dad has a Toshiba Regza 42″ and it is awesome too.

1 Star Great for 1 year and 2 months
This was a great TV for 1 year and 2 months (convienient for Toshiba that my warranty expired), but then one day I tried to turn it on and got sound but no picture. I took it to a repairman to hear that I was out of luck and that he has had a lot of the same problems with Toshiba (the panels going out). So if you want a TV for long enough for your warranty to expire then this is the TV for you. By the way customer service sucks and all they recommened was that I unplug the TV for 3 minutes and try it again…Don’t buy this TV or any other Toshiba you will waste your money!
