5 Stars The best so far
I bought this one a couple of days ago for $600+taxes. For some reason, both I and my wife thought there was something wrong with it, very good image quality but somewhat dim for our tastes - in all fairness, we still watch many channels in standard or digital definition.

So, we bought a better one, a Samsung 37”, 1080p, NC550… According to all reviews, it was supposed to be better, a lot better, it was a 1080p for God’s sake!. And, as we soon found out, this one was not “dim” by any measures!

I have calibrated the LG (do a search on google), and tried to do the same thing with the Samsung but I could not find any websites with the needed calibration information. I tweaked the settings on Samsung for hours on end. After 6-8 hours of watching both TVs, side by side, on a variety of channels (HD, Digital and Analog - I have not tried to hook them up to my laptop, though nor played any games on them!!!), the decision was somewhat easy. Incredibly, unexpectedly, the LG (37”, 760p) was significantly much better than the Samsung (37”, 1080p etc.). The image was much clearer and warmer, more pleasant to the eyes, the faces on both SD and Digital signals much clearer, more… “acceptable”. On an HD signal alone, we could not see any significant difference at all (again, we both liked the LG but it was just an a preference by now!). We watched both of them, the same channel, the same cable signal, at the same time … I know it sounds incredible, but we both liked the LG more.

The price was not an issue, the Samsung was just a $100 more (at Brandsmart USA). I was totally surprised: I thought the Samsung would blow us away (it was SAMSUNG, 1080p!!!. 5th generation after all), but it so turned out that the image on the LG was way much better. My wife kept telling me: I like the LG more, but if you think Samsung is better, then it is up to you! It took me hours to finally give up a “better” TV, the Samsung (1080p), for the LG (720p), but I did it. Now, when we watch TV (LG), we love it!

I have my doubts, but I am open to the remote possibility that some “calibration settings” on the Samsung could offer an image equal or even better in quality than the one on LG. I would be very, very, very surprised though…

We’ve also had a Plasma, 42”. Hitachi, TV in our Living room for 2 years now. Excellent TV, on all signals… The LG is not “better” is a bit different…

I suggest that you buy two of the Tvs you like, bring them home, set them up in the room you like, watch them side by side, and THEN decide. Otherwise, you don’t know how good (or bad) your TV is! What you watch in the showroom and EVEN THE TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS are only an INDICATION of what your TV would look like to your own eyes in your own room.

All the best!

5 Stars Very satisfied
I’ve had this TV for over a week now. This is my second HDTV LCD panel but my first in a larger size.

This unit packs a lot into a nice package for a really nice price. If you’re looking for something just one notch below premium (i.e. a great set with great value) then buy this set. Don’t be thrown by the price; this TV looks great and performs superbly.

720p at this screen size is perfect. 1080p below 42 inches is wasteful feature bloat that you don’t need to pay for. High Def channels look phenomenal on this set. XBOX360 over component is terrific. My HD feed is fiber optic. I have not tested over-the-air reception of this unit yet.

Standard Def (regular TV) is very good compared to what I’ve seen on other sets in stores and at friends’ houses. The internal signal up-converter is solid. DVD over component hookups looks very nice.

Display adjustment options are extensive. Some tweaking is needed out-of-the-box but this is very easy to do, and you can look online (AVSForum is great) for help in this arena.

ClearVoice sound (emphasizes dialogue over sound effects & music) is a great option and works well.

The internal speakers are surprisingly decent if that’s all you have. They have very little bass, but the mid-range sound is fairly full. We have a small 2.1 speaker system that we will use, but I haven’t yet felt compelled to hook it up while we get the sighting and wiring runs finalized.

The biggest problem I had with TV was getting the stand attached. Once I got that sorted out, the rest of setup was a breeze.

I paid more money than this set is listed for here, and I’m still thrilled with my purchase. That should say a lot.

5 Stars I love it
Having the 37LG30 for 2 weeks now, I think it is one of the best HDTV in its class. I trust the brand name because LG is the one that provides LCD panels to those graphic professionals. I love the overall quality. And it looks pretty nice fit to my small living room. What is my take? Be sure to run color calibration to suit your own eyes. Enjoy your TV.

5 Stars Great Picture
I have only used this TV attached to a HD Sat. Great picture right out of the box, I have not changed settings at all.

The sound is adequate for a small room or a quiet environment but I intend to use the optical output to hook it up to my 5.1 sound system. (nice feature!)

It’s amazing how light this TV is. Under 30 Pounds? The 27″ glass TV this replaced weighs about 70.

5 Stars it’s all good
Out of the box and the Sharp’s picture is perfect - there were no need for playing with the many settings The picture quality is good deep blacks and new presets for movie mode bright contrast etc- I bought this 32inch TV for the bedroom easy to set up and navigate the remote control. Recommend to all wow thanks for the stimulus check W…..

5 Stars great lcd tv
Could not find this model locally. Ordered from Amazon and had it in less than a week. Very happy with the transaction-would buy it again.

5 Stars The Best
Excellent, Just excellent product. I purchased this TV on line, refurbished. I paid 425 Dollars, it came inside a SHARP factory box, with all the bells and whistles. I got it out the box, installed, in less than 5 minutes including the included base. I used an 5.00 Dollars S-Video from Walmart. Installed to my Direct TV Box. Turned On and wait for about 10 minutes that the TV code all the channels. When done, I selected the Input source, selected the “Dynamic” Display and bingo!. The most beautiful picture on Screen for this TV category. The Remote use is supper easy, the on screen setup is very easy as well. I read the previous reviews about the sound, I have an 11 by 17 feet Room and I don’t need any louder that what I use which currently is not even 10 percent (unless you have some hearing impair) . if you want a great and clear picture and excellent price, you need to get this TV, you will not be disappointed

5 Stars great tv
I did a lot of research to find a tv that would perform good in a very sunlit area. My tv sits next to a huge picture window and the sun shines in all day long and I can see the picture just fine from every angle. I love it!

5 Stars Not a bad switcher. You could pay more for better build.
Got this one for under $60 bucks from Abacus (don’t know why they’re sold for so many different prices on Amazon). Its the same Chinese OEM stuff from Monoprice. The unit itself is metal and very simple. The HDMI connections are gold plated and seem solid enough. I tested with Comcast HD box, DVD upconverting DVD player, Xbox 360 and PS3. Everything works fine, though the first time the Xbox 360 experienced periodic stuttering of video. I think I had it on a different port the second time an all was well. The remote is chintzy and cheap but, c’mon, its 60 bucks and it works fine (at least they gave you a couple of cheapo batteries in the box).

All in all nothing to complain about. It works as advertised and saved me from buying 5 25ft hdmi cables to send to the LCD on the wall.

2 Stars Not working with Tivo Series 3 DVR
So here’s how this switch does not work with a Tivo DVR:

HDMI switch detects Tivo Series 3 DVR after switching from another source, and promptly about 10 seconds later the switch acts as if the Tivo is not currently active. And the HDMI switch continues to do this as many times as a person wants to repeat the process, selecting the input for said DVR. In other words, if you start to watch your Tivo, ten seconds later your video/sound turns off.

The only way to keep the Tivo source active is to unplug the power cord in the back of the switch, and plug it back in again. Switch to any other connected HDMI device and then back to Tivo and the behavior I’ve described above comes back 100% of the time.

This one’s going back. If the switch worked correctly, the 5 HDMI inputs would be a great deal. (Presently, I’m looking at the Oppo HDMI switch. Future expansion is on my mind, and that one has fewer HDMI ports.)

Why two stars for the Monoprice switch instead of one? It is possible that this switch works just fine for some people’s equipment. But a Tivo is a pretty standard chunk of hardware for many people. Gamble on this one knowing you might need to send it back.

(Equipment in the mix: Pioneer plasma, Tivo Series 3 DVR, Philips upsampling DVD player. I did not attempt to see how the switch works or does not work with my Sony PS3 due to not being able to get by the problem with how this switch reacts to a Tivo DVR. The DVD player did work just fine through the switch. Switch back to Tivo and… SURPRISE!)

5 Stars Great HDMI Switch Box at a great price
This is a great box at a great price. I first bought a piece-of-crap switch box from CircuitCity that kept introducing interference on my 47′ Polaroid flatscreen HDTV whenever I wanted to display 1080p content.

Unlike the the unit I purchased from CircuitCity, this box is well constructed out of metal, not plastic, and handles every format that I send to it without any problems. Plus the remote works well too or I can just let it auto-switch between components.

5 Stars Must buy!
After updating some electronic devices I quickly realized the need for a HDMI switch. I searched the web for days and was appalled by the price tag many carried. This switch will be sufficient for the majority of households and at this price you cannot go wrong.

Buyers are cautioned that HDMI cables are pricey but the signal quality is second to none.

5 Stars Excellent Product
This is my third HDMI switcher and things have certainly gotten easier from the first one. This product is easy to set up and easier to use. I have had no problems and highly recommend this product.
