3 Stars TV is Good, AntOnline is not.
I am very happy with this TV. Features are exactly what is advertised. However, I am not happy with AntOnline’s delivery service. They attempted delivery using a 48 ft semi and were unable to even approach my house. The shipper called me and said they couldn’t stop on my road b/c their truck was too big. I was forced to drive 50 miles to pick up the TV from their warehouse, as AntOnline did nothing to help resolve the issue. I’ve asked for shipping charge back and have received nothing. I don’t recommend buying from them if you live in a residential area.
5 Stars Best TV for the money!
I’ll keep it simple. Good price. Great Delivery. Outstanding TV. Beautiful picture. Impressive sound! This is the one you want.
3 Stars Not terrible, but not great.
Perhaps I purchased this monitor expecting too much, but I am disappointed with my selection.
First of all, the Viera with the picture off looks very good. This bad boy has a sleek design and it’s shiny frame looks very impressive. It’s definitely a high end hdtv…until you turn it on. I don’t know where to begin with my disappointment. I got a good deal on it, so the price is not what left me less then satisfied. The display itself is very overrated. It is difficult to get a crisp picture on this unit, and the THX mode that critics praise seems to leave a lot of pictures hazy and cloudy. I’m sure replicating “true blacks” is what a lot of video-philes loved about this set, but even the blacks seem more gray then truly black.
I also read that the sound the set produces is above average. However, when I actually do use the sound that my Panasonic delivers, it sounds painful to my ears. I am not one that buys a television for it’s audio qualities, but I am sending out a warning to those that might.
Beyond the less-than-satisfactory qualities that I have mentioned above, my biggest qualm is with the reflective screen attached to the unit. My two biggest concerns while purchasing a plasma were burn-in (which to it’s marketing department’s credit, Panasonic has convinced me is not a big deal) and reflectivity. The reflection off the front of the tv does not seem to be a huge deal. It’s a bit distracting, but overall it is not a deal breaker. HOWEVER, the reflection from INSIDE the tv is what I find incomprehensible for a modern-day television. From most angles (anything not directly in front of the tv), I notice a double image, or reflection, of the original picture. Maybe this is my fault because it’s normal for plasma displays, but I find it utterly ridiculous that a modern day television that prides itself on viewing angles considers this to be par for the course. How can a tv actually deliver a “crisp” picture when everything it displays has a “ghost” behind it? Once again, I find this insulting to my intelligence.
I’m sure my review will be ripped to shreds by all of those that consider this unit to be a work of art. I don’t have any credentials to back up my opinions. I’m just an ordinary guy on his third hdtv, and I find it fairly disappointing for all the hype this Panny has received. It’s not the worse set in the world, but it’s far from delivering on the hype that it has received.
5 Stars no problems with shipping
Cannot say anything about the TV yet, we just got it today. Wanted to let people know that my shipping experience with CEVA, about which many people complained, was excellent. I placed an order on Monday, the TV arrived on Friday, and the shippers even took it out of the box, assembled the base, and put it on my media center.
5 Stars Panasonic 50- Inch Plasma
Panasonic Viera TH-50PZ800U 50-Inch 1080p Plasma HDTV
I have always enjoyed Panasonic products. Now I know that they also make a really impressive plasma TV. I thought my 46 Inch Samsung LCD was great until I recently bought this Panasonic 50 Inch plasma. The picture on this TV is crisp and the sound is great! It was well worth the money. Hats-off to Panasonic. I think Samsung really has some serious competition from Panasonic.

5 Stars Good little TV for Kitchen or Bath
No complaints, works as expected. Audio is sufficient for our needs. We opted for white to match wall for flush mount.
5 Stars Customer Reviews Made a Difference
I was looking to replace a bedroom tv when I looked at this one. The customer reviews were largely favorable, price was good, so I bought it. I was amazed at how easy it was to set up and install this TV. Great picture, ultimate simplicity of set up. This is one TV I don’t have to call me kid at college for help. I couldn’t be more pleased.
4 Stars Good small room TV
Good TV for small to medium room, great picture but volume even on max is still too low. okay for small Kitchen or small Bedroom but not for Larger rooms. You just will not hear the volume. Other then that its a great little TV.
5 Stars Crystal clear quality at a great price.
This is as good a buy on a TV as you will find anywhere. It has the same crystal clear picture that Samsung big screens are known for, and the size is perfect for my office. The sleek design made it easy for me to hang it on the wall just four feet from where I sit at my computer station in the corner, allowing for a little extra desk space (my designs are neat; my desk is not).
The sound is more than adequate for a set this size, but there are complete AV and Component inputs on the back (plus PC In), so you can create a robust system if that’s what you want.
I’m not a big fan of the glossy black finish on the frame, but it’s not bad and the transparent lip on the bottom is a nice touch. All in all, you really have to love it, and at this price you can’t go wrong.
5 Stars Awesome HDTV
I did extensive research for a good HDTV and found this Samsung to be the best of everything I looked at. I am very pleased with the picture quality and overall performance. The pricing at Amazon was also the best when compared to over 20 other retailers, so all-in-all, I am very pleased and would recommend this item to anyone looking for a great 19″ HDTV.

Truly amazing details, complemented by a 3,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio plus vivid colors and bold blacks. 4 Stars Nice TV but weak speakers
Very nice image, no problem at all. The response to remote control is very fast. The base needs to be firmly attached with fasteners or else it would come off when the TV is lifted. I have it wall-mounted with a $60 Peerless articulating mount. The VESA mounting spec made sure that the Peerless mount would have its holes aligned perfectly with the mounting holes on the TV.
I see no weakness except the tiny speakers.
2 Stars Poor Sound Quality
Good: Shipping, Sleek Design
Fair: Picture quality
Poor: Sound
The sound quality was so poor that it over ruled anything good about this product.
4 Stars Great combo TV and computer monitor
I bought this as a gift to replace both a CRT TV and CRT computer monitor. It works great as both. The resolution is only 768 (720p for TV) but it supports higher output from your PC if you need it. The setup could not have been easier, just connected the cables, turned it on and it found all the TV channels. We are using it with basic cable and the picture looks great. The only disappointment was that this beautiful white TV (the 451 model) came with a black power cord. Fortunately it’s a standard PC/monitor power cable and we were able to use the old beige cord from the CRT we were replacing to make it blend in better. Samsung should inlude a white power cord with the white model of this TV.
4 Stars Close viewing of TV
The Samsung 22A450 22-inch 720 P LCD HDTV,Black:
I wanted a quality TV to watch while on the treadmill. This to me was the perfect choice. It’s the perfect size for close viewing since my treadmill is in the laundry room . The sound it produces is a little on the “tinny” side but you get used to it in no time at all, then it’s fine.
5 Stars Samsung 22″ LCD T.V.
This glossy black T.V. is not only attractive but has a great picture. I use this unit for over the air broadcasts and I think Samsung has the best tuners out there. This is the second Samsung set I have purchased. The only criticism I have is the sleep timer on the remote. One button operation would be an improvement. Overall, a great T.V.

4 Stars white line across the top
I love it I have the 36″ and it looks great and has a terrific picture but I get a white line across the top of the picture on certain HD channels that is annoying and only seems to happen on this TV.
5 Stars Excellent picture, good sound and great value
I have waited a bit before writing a review on this television. I wanted the honeymoon period to phase out a bit before I made any comments on it. Also, I thought I give it some time to notice any downsides to having purchase this t.v.
First things first, I have read some reviews (regardless of brand) that complain about regular televisions (CRT’s) looking better when watching shows transmitted without HD or analog.
This has nothing to do with the television, it has to do with the signal it receives. It is a television, not a magician.
I changed my account with dish network to receive HD as well as whatever else is digital and be able to stablish a comparison betweeen the two.
HD looks amazing. Period.
There is a firmware through Sony that would address the “sparkle” issue that has been addressed in other posts for Sony tv’s.
Let me tell you that we have not had to download the firmware, there is no sparkle. I even called Sony to have them send me a usb adaptor with the firmware and they told me that if I did not have the issue, it would actually harm the tv to use the firmware. I’ll take their work for it, because I believe that if something is not broken, there is no need to fix it.
Colors: Vivid setting is almost ridiculous in term of vibrancy. Nice feature to have and very appropriate for a lot of movies, shows, etc and maybe too much for other things.
Standard: Less bright but still sharp and well defined picture.
Cinema: Personally, I don’t care for this feature. It recreates the “feel” of watching a movie in the theater, but theater colors and shapness are not much to talk about, so we don’t use it.
Custom: Exactly what it means. You create it to your liking and change it as you want it.
Controls: Extremely easy to use.
Remote control: Nothing to brag about. It does what it is supposed to do and it is not a universal remote.
Sound: without hooking it up to external speakers, the sound is very good. There is no distortion and we have noticed that we can keep the volume low because everything is clearly understood. The front speakers do have a “surround sound” type of effect where you can actually hear things happening behind you as well as in front and sides while you are watching. It is not for audiophiles who like to hear every single thing that is going on, but it far surpasses the built in speakers on most t.v.s
HDMI and Analog inputs galore. Surround sound systems and consoles can be hooked up without having to purchase extensions and connectors.
Video play: Probably the worst game console in terms of graphics is the Wii console, it certainly cannot compete with the playstation …. or so I thought… After having played the wii for a year on a CRT, the same games are fantastic when hooked up to this t.v. I did not think it would make a difference, but even simple games like tombraider are sharper and clearer. Colorful ones like Mario are, in my opinion, seizure inducing but the kids love it.
60hz vs. 120hz. Honestly, we have watched Hockey and football and we see no blurring of motion. I honestly thought we’d have buyers remorse for not going for the W series, but the fact is, we don’t. We are extremely pleased with this set and the price from Amazon at the time came under 1500k and feel that we got a very good price on a very large set.
My only complain now is that we need a second television and I can’t see us going with anything smaller or lesser quality after having been spoiled rotten by this set.:)
PEACE
4 Stars great for blu-ray, maybe not X-box 360
Bought 2 of these for our basement, one to play Blu-Rays (concerts and movies when we have parties) and one for the kids to play X-box 360 and PS3. The one with the Blu-Ray looks great, and the sound is great. When looking at tvs several places, everyone recommended Sony - we were repeatedly told that the picture was great- but where we would really notice the difference was in the sound quality when we played concert Blu-Rays during parties- three different salespeople told me that with the Sony we wouldn’t need to hook up a 5.1 surround sound– we are wired for that, but after playing the tv really loud- I don’t think I need the 5.1 - which is great.
The one hooked up to X-box 360-not so great. One salesguy did recommend the higher refresh rate for gaming– but I really didn’t think it mattered. unfortunately it looks like this guy was right, the picture does seem to “drag” with the 360- right now we have Rockband hooked up and we can’t even read the words on the screen because they shake so much– does anyone know if we can fix this? We haven’t hooked up the PS3 yet- it’s for Christmas- but hopefully we won’t have the same issue. I have debated taking one tv back and getting the 120 refresh rate, so the games play better- but hate to spend the extra $500. —
5 Stars Great TV
This TV is amazing. Razor sharp and great colors. It was between this tv and the Samsung 52A550. There was nothing wrong with the Sammy. I just got a better deal with this Sony and it does not disappoint. It’s not a 120Hz TV but that’s okay, I’m happy with saving those extra $100’s.
5 Stars Sony at its Best!!!
I had a 47″ Vizio before I replaced it with this set and now am wondering why I ever bought anything but a Sony in the first place. The picture quality is Unbelievable…I read reviews before buying this set and thought it would be a great tv, once I got it, it blew me away. Far exceeded my (high) expectations!!!
