4 Stars One of the Best
I’m exceedingly pleased with my Bravia. The picture quality is outstanding. The audio leaves a bit to be desired, and the remote is not what one would call user friendly. However, despite those issues, the product is excellent…it is what one can expect if the product is named SONY.

5 Stars Wonderful TV
The Television has a wonderful picture and is very attractive. Visitors to my home ALWAYS comment on how clear the picture is.

5 Stars Be smart consumer Sony still king
This TV is perfect for the person who doesn’t spend tons of money or time on their movie/tv/gaming lives. If you want top shelf pic you will have to pay out at least $2000. But for me, a mid level gamer-movie watcher-sports fan-this TV is awesome. Many people don’t know you need HD service to appreciate the quality. Many people don’t know about component cords and proper surround sound setup. I enjoy this TV for its quality and price, I am just an average person who won’t belly up and spend $2000 on a tv so for 700 it is perfect, with a brand that has been in the business for decades.

5 Stars Incredible at a great price point….
This Sony TV lives up to all of the industry and Amazon reviews. It is very attractive with any decor, easy to set up and can truly be viewed from almost any angle with excellent picture quality. I would say it is ideal for a viewing distance of up to about 12-15 feet. If you are going to view it at more than this distance, I would get a larger one.

I didn’t have any problems with ordering, shipping, etc. The only negative I have to say is that the remote is not very rugged, which is surprising given the high ticket price. Couldn’t they put a few extra dollars and give people a nice remote.

You definitely will not be disappointed with this TV for sporting events, correct rendering of flesh tones and adjusting to brightness within a room. Compared to other HDTVs without all of these useful (sometimes essential) features, it’s not an apples to apples comparison. If you get one of the less expensive types, the color changes when viewed from an angle, the brightness isn’t quite right, etc. Spend the extra money and get something decent, a TV is generally something you will use for a long time.

5 Stars great tv
I debated over buying another model, but this one is really worth the extra cost. The delivery service was poor. They had the wrong number and only after a couple of phone calls on my part did they set up a delivery date

5 Stars Wonderful TV excellent service.
The 46PZ800U is everything I was hoping for in a HDTV. Beautiful picture, easy to hook things up to, and a great looking addition to my living room. The size was perfect for a long narrow room (17×11.5). The CEVA delivery people assembled the stand and then placed it in its permanent location, had me connect my HD cable box to it. (yes I was excited about getting the TV. Got the HD cable box 2 days ahead of time, Blu-ray player and HD dvd player were sitting here waiting along with the cables to hook them up)We tested the TV and then when everything was working they asked for my signature. Overall the whole experience was great and I would reccomend Amazon as a Wonderful way to get a new Panasonic TV. PS price on Amazon was over $300. better than any other price I saw for this model.either in store circulars or on-line. Last, I chose this model mainly because of the over 5000 gradients of color, the single sheet of glass construction, and the THX certification.

5 Stars Awesome Plasma!
I looked at HDTVs for almost a year and this is the one that caught my attention.I seriously considered Samsung LCDs and Pioneer Plasma and found this Panasonic delivers the best performance for the money. I have it hooked up to HD satellite and love it. Movies look great and HD football is amazing. Individual grass blades and clean motion contribute to my enjoyment of a terrific picture. The blacks are black and contrast is vivid, I couldn’t be happier with my purchase. I am looking forward to purchasing a Blue-Ray player to add to the fun. thanks

5 Stars Fantastically Realistic Looking Picture
I purchased this TV about a month ago and I was holding off on my review because I wanted to break in the set first (yes, you should still break in plasmas in spite of what the manufacturers say). I am at about 250 hours on the set, and I have to say that it is the most realistic looking picture that I have seen in a flat panel. I would even put it right up there with the Pioneer Kuros. Fleshtones are incredible and there is no oversaturation of colors. I simply used the THX mode and made basic adjustments using the DVE calibration disk on Blu Ray.

I had initially purchased a Samsung LN46A650 LCD. I liked the set but I just felt that it wasn’t quite as sharp as my Samsung 42 inch 720p plasma. Also the colors were a touch too oversaturated. Amazon returned the set with no hassle and delivered the Panasonic in its place.

Initially the Panasonic also did not look quite as sharp as my 42 inch Samsung although the picture was less noisy. However, right around 200 hours or so, the picture really sharpened up. Now that the set has some hours on it, the picture is just amazing! The only other set that I have seen with a better picture (and not by much)is a 60 inch Kuro. The only thing that the Kuros have over this Panasonic is that they are a touch sharper.

This Panasonic is a phenominal buy if color decoding and a realistic picture is most important to you. If you’re looking for a panel that has a bright, punchy picture with colors that are slightly cartoonish but that pop, go with the Samsung LN46A650 lcd.

PROS: Phenominal color decoding, incredibly realistic looking picture, fantastic price

CONS: Picture could be just a touch sharper, speakers are mediocre

5 Stars Great picture for 1080p and for up-converted non HD signal.
I bought the Panasonic Viera TH-46PZ800U 46″ 1080p Plasma HDTV because of the THX certification and the reviews on cnet, I was not disappointed. The picture is highly adjustable, but the four preset options are very good for watching different inputs. For example when you select the game input it automatically increases the brightness and color, for watching BR movies it gives you a warmer setting. The only disappointing part was the delivery. The delivery guys were dirty, leaving marks on the floor and walls. They didn’t know if they were supposed to attach the stand, and when they decided it was necessary they did not seem to take great care with the TV. In the end everything worked great.

5 Stars Brilliant
This TV is superb. HD images are amazingly clear, and the color is awesome!

When I was looking to buy an HDTV, I was worried about how bad standard def images would look. SD images looked pretty bad on a lot of the HDTVs I had seen. However, this TV does a fine job cleaning up SD images, and I don’t notice any artifacting unless I’m only 3 or 4 feet from the TV. This is pretty important, because a lot of programming is still only available in standard definition.

This TV also has great sound. I know that’s not something you normally look for in a TV. However, I live in an apartment, and I don’t plan on getting a kickin’ sound system anytime soon, because I don’t want to disturb my neighbors. The speakers on this TV perform nicely instead, and the bass is pretty dang good.

Overall: highly recommended.

5 Stars Wonderful TV! - Great USB connection feature to view photos
I have waited almost 6 years to buy a TV and this TV was all worth the wait!! Not only the HDTV broadacat is beautiful but also the USB connection to view photos taken on the camera is absolutely fantastic! I was very impressed and totally happy with the TV. Thank you Sony for making this wonderful TV!

4 Stars Almost Perfect : > /
When the price of this Sony dropped to $1429, I jumped on it, when it launched it was $2299, not that long ago either.

I got my XRB-6 two days ago, the picture quality is amazing! I have never seen colors so vibrant and clear.

I must say though, like I read about clouding issues with other Sony sets, well to my disappointment, it’s true, when the screen goes black, there are visible clouds, it’s not really a big deal, but since I’ve been reading about this problem for some time, I would have expected Sony to correct it. Not sure if I’m going to keep this set or not, other than that it’s close to perfection, just not sure I can live with this defect or not.

My previous set was a cheap Polaroid 37″ 1080i, it had no clouding issues though, this problem seems to be exclusive to Sony.

Gonna try to adjust the settings, this set has many controls to adjust settings, and there is a control where you can reduce the backlight, which is what is causing this problem.

Right now though, I have very mixed feelings, I never had a problem with a Sony before, so I expect perfection.

Will update after I make the adjustments to see if it helps any.

Update: I made adjustments to the backlight control, if you lower the setting 3 levels, and turn the tv to power save mode, the clouding issues are mostly gone, but your overall picture is much darker, a trade off for getting rid of the clouds.

My clouding issues were not too bad, other owners reported clouding covering 50% or more of their screen, my clouding was minimal, sets with this problem seem to have different levels of clouding.

Bottom line, I’ve decided to keep the tv, the pros far outweigh this minor issue.

I can’t help but wonder if the XBR-8 priced at 5 grand has this problem too.

4 Stars Great Product, Terrible Shipping Experience
The XBR is more or less the “Mercedes” of the TV industry, while everyone else compares their product to the Sony, it remains the pinnacle of the LCD game. I looked at both the Samsung and the Sony, both were spectacular. In fact, Samsung makes the screen for the Sony, so it makes sense they are the same. Bottom line, there is simply more “coolness” to the Sony name.

The TV is great, but Amazon’s white glove shipping stinks. I bought the product, and it sat on several docks for days, finally got through to the shipper, scheduled for Saturday. But guess what? no TV. Have to schedule multiple times - I guess free shipping implies “worthless”. The drivers are late, never call back, and all you get is an answering service. I would have bought this product somewhere else if I had known….

5 Stars Amazing Picture Quality
The picture quality is absolutely amazing and Amazon had a super price discount as well. The white glove service is average. I think Amazon should collect customer feedback on quality of delivery service.

The product is well worth the price. Nothing comes close in comparison in picture quality.

5 Stars WOW!!!!!!!!!
Can’t beat a SONY TV for picture or sound quality. I’ve been in the market a long time, waiting for the XBR6 to fall in price (not ready to fork out money for an XBR8 quite yet) and the second it fell below 1500, it was a steal. I challenge anyone to find an LCD with a clearer, crisper picture and with a better sound quiality. You won’t find it! FANTASTIC and Amazon’s white glove service was amazing and efficient!
